All The World's a Stage - Guitar Teacher Offers Free Class to Community

Music instructor Josh Urban believes anyone can learn to play guitar, and is offering a free class to prove it. On Saturday, March 20th, Josh hosts a free clinic for absolutely anyone interested in guitar.

"It's my way of giving back to the community", says Josh, a longtime resident of the area. "I'm always running into folks who express an interest in the instrument, but are reluctant to follow up on their curiosity. People get a guitar for the holidays, and have no clue how it works. Soon, it's a fancy dust collector sitting in the corner. Well, here's my way to help those people learn."

Primarily aimed at people who have no previous guitar experience, Josh states that the purpose of the event is to show people the basics of the instrument in a friendly, low-pressure environment.

"Everybody's welcome!" he says. "Music is just so much fun, and everyone should have access to it."

The clinic will be held at the Southern Maryland Business Center in Waldorf at 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 20th. To register, please call 240-682-2801

Josh Urban is a professional guitar instructor and musician based in Waldorf. Teaching approximately 35 students per week, ranging in ages from 7 to 57, Josh aims to make music more understandable, accessible, and fun. In addition to his teaching gig, he's recording a CD of his one-man band, maintains a music blog (www.joshurban.blogspot.com), a website (www.poodleman.com) , and has articles featured online at www.ultimate-guitar.com and www.guitarnoise.com.
